A Mayan ruins extravaganza
from Playa del Carmen! Visit two of the
premier ruins sites in the Riviera Maya in one
great tour. Travel non-stop to Tulum, the
great walled city, where you can be entranced by
the cliff top view over the Caribbean and one of
the area's most beautiful beaches. Tour
the ruins and be fascinated by the advanced
civilization of the Mayas.
Then it's off to Coba, much
larger than Tulum, and less touristed.
Here you can climb the great pyramid, one of the
area's most exciting attractions. Feel
like Indiana Jones as you look out over the
jungle below! You can rent a rickshaw (aka
pedicab) at Coba to be chauffeur driven around
the site, or you can rent a bicycle if you'd
like to give it a go on your own.
You can also take a guided
tour of these ruins as well, as you learn about
the distinctive qualities of Coba and can
contrast them with those of Tulum. Of
course, these tours are fully customizable -
want to stop for lunch, shopping, or a roadside
attraction? No problem at all - add
whatever you like that is on the way.
When: Daily on Your
Schedule.
Where: Pick-up and
drop-off at your Playa del Carmen Hotel.
There is an additional charge for pickup at hotels north of
Playa del Carmen, because we have to drive the
opposite direction to pick you up and
double-back.
How Long: Approximately 10 Hours. You
don't have to stay the full 10 hours if you are
pressed for time. We'll get you back in
time. Additional Hours are also available
if you have more time.

Notes:
A private guide can be hired at
the Tulum entrance gate for 500 pesos (about
$35) for 1-8 people or 700 pesos (about $50).
Your driver will show you where to go.
This fee is for your whole group to have your
own private guide for a 45-minute tour. You also
have the option of just exploring on your own
without a guide.
You can hire a pedicab to take
you around Coba for $10 or you can
rent a bicycle for $3.50.
If you plan to use a video camera inside
Tulum or Coba, you will need to pay a $3.50 USD
government video tax.
