Meaning "Born from the Sky" in ancient Mayan, you will understand why it came to this name after spending the day paddling your kayak through the mangrove lined waterways of Sian Kaan.  Over 1.6 million acres of untouched wilderness, coupled with smooth, translucent waters and over 100 different types of wildlife, Sian Kaan is a natural spectacle like no other.

This kayaking excursion is specially designed to take full advantage of the periods of most bird activity - at either sunrise or sunset, when you'll be enthralled by an outstanding uproar of birds.  Pink flamingos filling the skies, white ibis and boat-billed herons fishing for food, egrets, eagles and frigate birds giving a true meaning to this incredible natural experience.  There is no other way to experience the wonders of Sian Kaan quite like this, coupled with the fantastic sunset.

This kayaking tour features very small groups of 6 people or less, providing a uniquely intimate and enriching experience. You will paddle your kayak through approximately 10 km (6 miles) of untouched mangrove-lined waterways, observing the wildlife in its natural environment.

When:  Wednesdays and Saturdays at either 6:00 AM (sunrise) or 3:00 PM (sunset).  Private tours are available every day but Sunday.  Exact pick-up time will be shown on your confirmation and e-ticket.

Where: Pick-up at hotels from Akumal to Tulum is free.  Pick-up at hotels from Playa del Carmen to Akumal is $10.00 per person, payable in cash on the day of the tour.  Pick-up is not available for hotels north of Playa del Carmen.

How Long: 4 Hours Approximately.
