Considering it was a tour to one of the modern wonders of the world the alleged highlight of the trip was more of an afterthought. We didn’t arrive until 3:00pm and by the time we had walked through the local trade stands picked up tickets and actually got on site we only had 45 mins for the quickest 3 point tour of site and 20 mins on our own. Certainly not the 90 min tour plus own time that was promised, luckily I had been there before so I quickly ditched the tour and literally had to sprint around to get to the outer areas such as the observatory and outer temples etc. don’t waste your time too many pickups for too little reward.

My partner and I were extremely disappointed by this tour. A majority of the time was spent in the bus and when we did get to tour stops, we barely had any time to enjoy them. W/ such a huge group, our tour suffered due to tour members not respecting the set return times, therefore cutting our time even shorter at next stops. This was an extremely long day, mainly spent on a bus do to the multiple pickup points from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum THEN to Chichen Itza. We couldn't hear the tour guides in the bus well since we were in the back row. It was also hard to follow as they rapidly switched between English and Spanish, rather than saying the entire thing in Spanish, then English. There was so much "tourist trap" stuff too. For the lunch stop, we had to go through two shops first and there were two separate occurrences when something was made for us, unique to us, without us asking, so then we had to decline since we didn't want, which was a waste of materials. We would rather have paid so much more to have a private tour. We were also told we couldn't bring our GoPro into the cenote, but others did, so now we didn't get to capture the experience. I do not recommend.
