This tour makes a great cruise shore excursion, or just a fun day out. You start with a non-stop air-conditioned ride to Tulum, where you can tour the ruins site. If you have time afterward, you can also go down to the beach below the ruins and swim.

After you've embraced the Mayan civilization at Tulum, we'll travel to Yal-Ku Lagoon, home of some of the best snorkeling in the Riviera Maya. Here in this calm and secluded lagoon, you will be able to go snorkeling with tons of tropical fish and coral. There are changing facilities, a snack bar, and lockers available at Yal-Ku.

Want to stay longer? No problem! You can stretch this to a full day tour if you want to spend some time on the beach, swim, have lunch, or swim at Tulum. Just choose to add extra hours below.

Cruise Passengers: Yes! This excursion is available to you and will work with most cruise schedules. We will adjust the start time to work for you. Free pier pick-up!

When: Daily on Your Schedule.

Where: Pick-up and drop-off at your Playa del Carmen or Riviera Maya Hotel or the Playa del Carmen ferry pier. There is an additional charge for pickup at hotels north of Playa del Carmen, because we have to drive the opposite direction to pick you up and double-back.

How Long: Approximately 6 Hours. You don't have to stay the full 6 hours if you are pressed for time. We'll get you back in time.

Tulum Ruins Entrance Fee: 465 Pesos Per Person (Approx. $25.00 USD Per Person)

Yal-Ku Entrance Fee: 381 Pesos Per Person (Approx. $19.00 USD Per Person)

Tulum Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Latest Entry 3:30 PM)

Yal-Ku Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Notes:
A private guide can be hired at the Tulum entrance gate for 600 Pesos approx. $35.00 USD for up to 5 people, larger groups add approximately $2.00 USD per person. Your driver will show you where to go. This fee is for your whole group to have your own private guide for 30-40 minutes. You also have the option of just exploring on your own without a guide.

If you plan on using a professional camera or make video recordings with electronic devices of any type inside Tulum, you will have to pay 50 Pesos at the entrance (Approx. $3.50 USD).

All Snorkeling Equipment and Life Jackets are available for rent at Yal-Ku Entrance, for about 110 Pesos (Approx. $7.00 each rented piece).

There was a mixup with our start time. We were supposed to start at 8am, but our driver was told 9am. So...we had a delayed start. Outside of that, our tour was excellent. Our driver was very laid back and allowed us all of the time we needed at each of our destinations. Thank you!

We booked a private van through Playa del Carmen Tours to take us from our resort to the ruins in Tulum and then to Yal-Ku Lagoon for snorkeling. The driver picked us up just as scheduled and helped us get an excellent guide in Tulum. He was right at the appointed location at the specefied time when we finished at Tulum and it was the same at Yal-Ku Lagoon. It was an excellent experience! His efficiency and professionalism allowed us to do both of these interesting and fun activities and be back to our resort by 1:00 p.m. which is what we had asked.

We booked for a private Cobe and Tulum tour and were super happy with the service we received! What made the excursion exceptional though, was the amazing driver/guide we had, George Leon. We were a party of three, my wife, myself and our teenage son; George was engaging with each of us and shared a wealth of stories, knowledge and information we all took something meaningful away from.
