An exciting once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to swim with real live dolphins in the blue Caribbean waters of Playa del Carmen Mexico!  In this activity, you'll swim in deep water with the dolphins, getting a chance to experience them under water through a snorkeling mask, as well as on the surface. 

During the Dolphin Connection program, you'll enjoy a perfect blend of fun, excitement, and connection. Greet and observe these intelligent creatures up close as they play and swim alongside you. With the guidance of our expert Marine Mammal Specialists, you'll also learn fascinating facts about dolphin anatomy, behaviors, and their underwater world.  Small kids and adults who are not comfortable in deep water will want to do the Dolphin Encounter.

Cruise Passengers:  Yes! This makes a great cruise shore excursion. The dolphin center is only 10 minutes from the Calica cruise pier, and 15 minutes from the Playa del Carmen Ferry Pier!

When: Tuesday to Sunday at 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 1:00 PM.

Where: Pickup at your Playa del Carmen or Riviera Maya hotel is available upon request for $10.00 USD per participant and $15.00 USD per observer, paid in cash at the time of your pick-up.* Cruise passengers will meet at the Dolphin Center in Puerto Aventuras, about 10 min. south of Playa del Carmen.

Kids: Ages 1 and up. Kids' prices apply to ages 6-12 years. Kids 1-5 years are free. Kids under 10 years old or under 4' 6' tall (140 cm) must be accompanied by a paying adult (2 adults if under 4 feet (120cm) tall). Kids will perform activities appropriate to their ages.

Restrictions: Pregnant women are not allowed to do the dolphin swim. No sunscreen or jewelry allowed for the safety of the dolphins.  Transportation is available from most Riviera Maya hotels upon request.  Transportation from Cancun hotels is not available.

Location: The Dolphin Center is about 10 minutes south of Playa del Carmen and 10 minutes north of Akumal. If you are staying north of Playa del Carmen, please see our other Dolphin Connection.

All was great, except a miscommunication with the pick up to the airport. I booked it for 4 ppl, for first arrival, then for drop off, I booked for 6 ppl. They told me it was the same price since it was under 6ppl. However, when the driver arrived, he had no knowledge that it was 6 instead of 4. Almost didn't believe me, until I found my confirmation email. Perhaps he too, should know policy/passengers allowed per car, or any other info, so there is no miscommunications. Dolphin interaction was amazing, but I suggest you let customers know, there is no "free time" to swim with the dolphins, only interaction is in a group and trainer setting. Had great time, will recommend or reach out again! Thanks!
