Every night, at sunset, the great pyramid of El Castillo shines through the night. Come see one of the New 7 Wonders of the World and admire how the centerpiece of this famous ancient Mayan complex comes to life with a light & sound show. See its majestic structure come alive with 3D mapping projection, dramatic lighting and images. THIS TOUR IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE The ancient story of the Mayas is told in unusual fashion, giving you a unique glimpse into the history of Chichen Itza and the Mayan empire. Through rhythmic lights and sounds we will learn Mayan theories on how the universe was created, and understand just how impressive the Mayan civilization was. Your tour will start by taking a guided tour of Chichen Itza, after which we will have a delicious dinner at a local Mexican restaurant. You will have some free time to take photos of the lighted temples, then it's time to enjoy the evening's entertainment, as the lights are projected on the Kukulkan pyramid and the night show begins. A unique experience that gives you a different perspective of the Mayan culture!
Chichen Itza Light & Sound Tour Highlights
When: Tuesdays at 12:30 PM on Winter, on Summer you'll have a later start time. Exact pick-up time will depend on the location of your hotel and it will be specified on your confirmation. Where: Complimentary pick-up from most Playa del Carmen and Northern Riviera Maya hotels and Plaza Playacar in Playa del Carmen. There is no pick-up for this tour south of Playa del Carmen. Guests staying south of Playa del Carmen (Puerto Aventuras, Akumal, Tulum) will meet at Plaza Playacar in Playa del Carmen. How Long: Approximately 11 Hours. Includes:
Kids: All ages welcome. Kids under 5 years old are free but due to the late return time of this tour, we don't really recommend it for small children. Kids ages 3-4 must pay the Chichen Itza Entrance Fee of 481 Mexican Pesos (Approx. $25.00 USD) in cash on the day of the tour. The entrance fee is already included in the ticket for ages 5-11.
